Receiving Clerk - Part time

Title:  Receiving Clerk

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Reports to:  Purchasing Supervisor

Department:  Accounting

JOB SUMMARY

 

Under direction of the Purchasing Supervisor, the Receiving Clerk performs the day-to-day activities of the purchasing/receiving operation including placing orders, receiving merchandise, inventory, and ensuring warehouse control. 

The Receiving Clerk, as with all members of the Tamarack Junction Casino Team, is expected to conduct himself/herself in a manner, which demonstrates initiative, professionalism, personal awareness, integrity, and exercises confidentiality in the appropriate areas of his/her performance. 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

 

  • Ensures physical control of inventory and warehouse.  Follows all check in/out procedures of inventory.
  • Assists in all receiving/purchasing related activities. 
  • Assists Purchasing Supervisor in reviewing inventory records or warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity.
  • Delivers product from warehouse to various departments.  Ensures proper documentation of inventory taken from the warehouse and transfers are complete and accurate.
  • Ensures accuracy of all delivered product, documentation and vendor invoices.  Resolves any discrepancies.
  • Assists Purchasing Supervisor with physical inventory count for food product, beverage, and supplies.
  • Assumes total responsibility for warehouse cleanliness and organization.
  • Regularly provides information to management staff regarding safety concerns and the general appearance of the casino to ensure a quality and safe environment for guests.
  • Assists other departments as requested or assigned.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.

TECHNICAL/PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE (Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience)

  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Provide exceptional guest services at all times.
  • Work independently and follow verbal and written directions, policies, and procedures.
  • Understanding of warehouse operations and principles.  Ability to read and interpret numerical information.
  • Computer literate and proficiency with Microsoft Office products preferred.  Accurate 10 key skills by touch.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.  Previous warehouse/receiving experience preferred.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The Receiving Clerk works on-site at the casino and interfaces with external/internal guests, team members, and vendors on a regular basis. The position work schedule varies and may include Saturday/Sunday and evening work depending on the needs of the operation.
